That’s why so many teams are turning to Microsoft Teams as an essential tool for collaboration. But even with all the benefits that come from using Teams for your company’s communications, there’s still one major drawback: you can’t archive team chats. Luckily, there are ways around this!

Record your Microsoft Teams meetings to always be able to access them later on.
To record a meeting, you can either go to the Recording tab or click on the New button in the top-right corner of your screen. The first option will allow you to record all voices and video in real time, while the second option allows you to set up a recording before it starts.
Once your recording has finished saving, it will be accessible through “My Recordings” under My Content within Microsoft Teams or via direct link (e.g., https://teamsapp-myteamnamehere/Recordings/X). You can also share these recordings with other people by clicking Share or Copy Link next to each one.

- If compliance requirements are part of your company culture (e.g., HIPAA), then recording all of your meetings may be necessary so that there’s no question about what was said during any particular discussion or meeting. This also helps prevent any accidental disclosure of confidential information that might happen if someone forgets about their microphone when speaking privately with another colleague during an unrecorded conversation!
